Lady Panthers win own tournament with season high

The Climax-Scotts varsity softball team pounded out a season high 21 hits and held on for a 25-19 win over White Pigeon and claim the championship trophy of the Panther Invite April 27 at C-S Jr./Sr. High School.

C-S defeated Olivet 13-2 in the first game of the tournament.

C-S, now 5-7, was led in the White Pigeon game by Addi Dzwik’s four hits including a double, however Hailey Talbert drove in six runs with a single, double and a triple.

Holly Talbert earned the win on the found, allowing four hits, 11 earned runs, and 15 walks to go with six strikeouts over four and one-third innings pitched.

After falling behind Olivet 1-0 in the second inning of the first game, C-S took charge in the third and fourth innings by scoring five runs in each inning.

Addy Reeves held the Eagles to just two hits and did not allow an earned run. She walked eight and struck out eight.

Holly Talbert, Addi Dzwik, who had a double and two RBI, and Gina Smith, who had two RBI, each had two hits for C-S.

C-S bats quiet in loss to Mendon
Mendon held the Lady Panthers to just two hits while totaling 12 offensively to post a 11-1 setback on Climax-Scotts April 25 at Mendon.
C-S coach Janae Gibson received one hit from Rylie Altman and Gina Smith.
Addy Reeves, who allowed 12 hits, seven earned runs and five walks, with two strikeouts, suffered the loss.

Panther bats active in win over Bellevue

The Lady Panthers pounded out 11 hits in a 22-12 win over Bellevue April 23 at C-S Jr./Sr. High School.   
Rylie Altman, who drove in one run, Hailey Talbert, who drove in three runs, and Makenzie Grimm, who had a triple and drove in four runs, each had two hits to lead C-S in the 11-hit attack. Altman and Talbert each added two stolen bases.
Holly Talbert worked around 17 walks and earned the win, striking out 10 Broncos while scattering five hits.
