Underwear bomber lawyer suspended for 6 months
DETROIT (AP) — A Detroit attorney who represented the underwear bomber says his law license has been suspended for six months.
Anthony Chambers made the disclosure in a court filing Monday. He informed a federal judge in the case of a mid-Michigan man who is charged with killing a 4-year-old boy on an Indian reservation.
No other details were disclosed, but Chambers’ suspension is not related to his work for Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. He is the African who is serving a life sentence for trying to blow up a Detroit-bound airliner with a bomb in his underwear.
A message seeking comment was left for Chambers Tuesday.
He’s been representing Anthony Bennett, who is charged with killing his girlfriend’s son near Mount Pleasant. The next court hearing is May 9.

Also hear from Mark Denson, business attraction manager for the Detroit Economic Growth Corp., who will discuss the organization’s role in helping franchisees invest downtown and other strategic investment targets.

Law Day at the Levin Courthouse
Law Day at the Levin Courthouse will be held Wednesday, May 1, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the United States District Court Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse, 231 W. Lafayette Boulevard in downtown Detroit.
