On Sunday, June 7, Cooley Law School’s Seventh Annual Charity Benefit will raise funds to support the Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center. The event will be conducted at Cooley’s Auburn Hills campus, Room 145, at 6 p.m.
The Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center includes a shelter that houses animals found by the center’s Road Unit as a result of abandonment or cruelty as well as strays and animals taken in because their owners can no longer care for them. The WMU Cooley Charity Benefit proceeds will go to the Center’s Legacy Fund which is money used for the betterment of animals at the shelter including vaccines, specialty foods, and emergency medical treatment. The animals are then available for adoption into their forever homes.
“It is important for the WMU-Cooley community to give back,” said Lisa Halushka, assistant dean. “This event is a fun way for us to help the Oakland County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center provide care and services for the animals in the community.”
The event, which is open to the public, will feature live music by Lions to Nowhere, entertainment by clean comedian/magician Chris Linn, and a silent auction. It will take place at
WMU-Cooley’s Auburn Hills Campus, 2630 Featherstone Road, in Room 145
Cost is $20 per person or $140 per group of eight. Tickets are on sale at the Auburn Hills campus in the Dean’s Office – Room 262
