'Corporate Oppression Actions'

The Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan along with the Wayne State Journal of Business Law presented a “Symposium on Corporate Oppression Actions” on Wednesday, Jan. 15, in the Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium at Wayne State University Law School in Detroit. The interplay between the business courts and recent published precedents and the proliferation of claims under MCL 450.1489, 4515 is altering the landscape of the corporate oppression action and the application of fiduciary standards in the context of corporate disputes.  The symposium explored effective techniques and tools in both prosecuting and defending the corporate action.  Among those sharing their strategies and insights at the symposium were (left to right) University of Huston Law Center Prof. Douglas Moll, Mark Rossman of Rossman Saxe PC, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Lita Popke, Dan Quick of Dickinson Wright, and E. Powell Miller of The Miller Firm.
