The Italian American Bar Association of Michigan (IABAM) will present its Justinian Night honoring Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Victoria A. Valentine on Wednesday, October 19, beginning at 6 p.m. at Da Francesco’s Restaurant, 49521 Van Dyke Ave in Shelby Township.
A graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy Law School, Valentine was first elected to the bench in 2016. She initially had a family court docket and now presides over a civil/criminal docket. Earlier this year, the Michigan Supreme Court appointed Valentine to serve on the bench of the Oakland County Business Court. Prior to joining the bench, she practiced law for more than 17 years with a focus on civil litigation, particularly complex commercial litigation.
Valentine is a past member of the Advisory Board for Institute of Transnational Arbitration, and a past member of the State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly. She is an active member of the Oakland County Bar Association and is a trustee of the Oakland County Bar Foundation.
Cost for the IABAM Justinian Night is $50 per person and judges can attend for free. The event is open to non-members. To register, visit www.iabam.com/events or email jmartone@clarkhill.com.
