Wayne State University Law School will host “Michigan Black Migrant Convening” on Thursday, October 26, from noon to 1 p.m. at Wayne Law’s Partrich Auditorium, 471 W. Palmer Ave. in Detroit.
The purpose of this event is to highlight the distinctive experiences, challenges, achievements, and opportunities encountered by Black migrants in Michigan. It aims to recognize and raise awareness of the presence of Black people as immigrants and newcomers in the state, facilitate meaningful discussions between Black migrant communities, government stakeholders, and professional experts, and ultimately create practical strategies and recommendations for improving support and sense of belonging.
