Sunrise Seminar to focus on employment relations matters

Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a Sunrise Seminar titled “Can I Do This?” – an interactive seminar discussing frequently asked questions and situations in employment relations matters.

The seminar will take place on Tuesday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to noon at Automation Alley, 2675 Bellingham Drive in Troy. Speakers David Deromedi and Sam Richman will cover a wide range of employment-related topics including how companies should address the following situations:

• I need a doctor’s note every time you take intermittent FMLA leave.
• You lost your laptop so I’m docking your salary.
• Did someone say you were marching in the Motor City Pride parade?
• I hear that your mother has diabetes. Are you worried that it is hereditary?
• I see you’ve put on some weight. When is the baby due?
• Can’t we just call this termination a position elimination and be done with it?

David R. Deromedi is a member of Dickinson Wright and has practiced in the area of labor and employment law for more than 20 years, with a focus on employment litigation and counseling, wage and hour litigation and counseling, and occupational safety.

Sam Richman is an associate at Dickinson Wright. His practice focuses on employment law, commercial litigation, and securities litigation. As an associate member of the firm’s employment law practice, Richman works both to prevent litigation and resolve lawsuits quickly and efficiently.
