Care House to honor Judge Peter J. Maceroni at annual fundraiser
Care House will hold its 14th annual “Christmas for Kids” fundraiser on Monday, Dec. 6 at Mac & Ray’s Banquet Center in Harrison Township. Judge Peter J. Maceroni of the 16th Judicial Circuit Court will be honored at the event for his years of service to Care House and the community. Doors open at 5 p.m. and tickets are $75 per person. Care House is the only nonprofit organization in Macomb County that provides a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary response to child sexual and severe physical abuse. Since 1996, Care House has coordinated over 3,400 forensic interviews for child victims of sexual abuse and provided services to over 5,700 families, all at no cost to the families we serve.

Polish American Legal Society to host annual Christmas party Dec. 3
The Polish American Legal Society (PALS) will celebrate its annual Christmas Party on Friday, December 3, from 6 to 11 p.m. at the American Polish Cultural Center in Troy.  Premium open bar, full Polish dinner, and dancing included. $50 per person.  For reservations contact Mark Plawecki at (313) 277-7143.    

Rakow/Historical Society Luncheon at Westin Book Cadillac Nov. 18
The Rakow/Historical Society Luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 18 at the Westin Book Cadillac. The annual joint luncheon between the FBA Eastern District of Michigan Chapter and the Historical Society of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District will feature the presentation of the Federal Bar Foundation's annual Rakow Scholarship Awards to students from each of Michigan's law schools and a very special Historical Society program featuring Ross Parker, author of the book “Carving Out the Rule of Law: The History of the United States Attorney’s Office in Eastern Michigan 1815–2008.”  Parker was the chief of the criminal division in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Detroit for eight years and an AUSA for 28 years in that office.
