The Oakland County Board of Commissioners honored photojournalist and author Linda Solomon with a proclamation at its Thursday, April 21, meeting.  An Oakland County resident, Solomon was recently inducted into the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame. Solomon was instrumental in assisting the Oakland County Family-Focused Juvenile Drug Court by having participants in the program become involved in the “My Hope for America” photography project.  Her “Pictures of Hope” project with Tucson, Arizona, children who were living in homeless shelters was featured on the CBS Evening News. She has divided her career between capturing the most famous personalities of the time and giving back to the community.

Also during the April 21 Board of Commissioners meeting, Oakland County Probate Court volunteers were recognized for their long term volunteer service.
