Miller Canfield lawyer elected to East Michigan Air and Waste Management Association board
Kelly M. Martorano, an associate in Miller Canfield’s Troy office, has been elected to the board of directors of the East Michigan Chapter of Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA).

At Miller Canfield, Martorano specializes in identifying, managing, and negotiating environmental issues and risks associated with domestic and international mergers and acquisitions and real property transactions.

She received her J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law and her B.S. from Michigan State University. She resides in White Lake, Michigan.

The East Michigan Chapter of A&WMA’s mission is to promote a better understanding of the problems of air pollution control, waste management and related environmental concerns among governmental regulatory personnel, researchers, educators, representatives, of industry and the general public and to work toward resolution of these problems.

‘Due Process’ with Henry Baskin airs new episodes starting Friday
“Due Process,” one of Metro Detroit’s longest running public affairs television shows, returns to Detroit Public Television (WTVS-TV Channel 56) with new episodes this month.

Hosted by Henry Baskin of The Baskin Law Firm in Birmingham, “Due Process” features discussion of legal and public interest topics to Southeast Michigan.  The show airs each Friday at 5:30 p.m. on Detroit Public Television.

New episodes include:
June 17, 2011 – “Young Entrepreneurial Detroit  
June 24, 2011 – “Environmental Law”
July 1, 2011 – “Human Trafficking”

‘Call for Action’ seeks volunteer attorneys to answer legal calls

Volunteer attorneys are being sought by WXYZ-TV Channel 7’s Call for Action. Every Thursday volunteer attorneys come to the Channel 7 offices to answer incoming calls regarding legal matters.  The phones are open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Call for Action provides a light lunch to the volunteer attorneys.  The Channel 7 offices are located at 20777 W. Ten Mile Road in Southfield.  Anyone interested in volunteering should call (248) 827-1108.
