The Michigan Legal Self-Help Center of Wayne County held its grand opening Nov. 13 at the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center. The center is a free resource for area residents who need to represent themselves in simple civil legal matters. It  provides free information about Michigan law. Nonprofit legal aid agencies provide free assistance, but have to turn away about half of those who seek their help because of lack of resources. The center and the site provide only legal information, not legal advice. Go to www.michiganlegalhelp.org for more information.
