MAJ and Wayne Law to host 2013 Mark Weiss Day at Comerica Park

The 10th annual Mark Weiss Day at Comerica Park will be held on Friday, July 26. This year the American League Champion Detroit Tigers take on the Philadelphia Phillies. The picnic starts at 5:30 p.m. on party deck 3 and the game begins at 7:05 p.m. The scholarship was established as a joint project of Wayne Law and the Michigan Association for Justice, formerly known as the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association. DMBA to present annual Summer Breeze and Law Clerk Party


The Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association will present the 2013 Summer Breeze and Law Clerk Party on Thursday, July 18, from 5 - 7:30 p.m. at Sindbad’s at the River, 100 St. Clair, Detroit. The Summer Breeze is an opportunity for new attorneys, summer associates and law clerks to meet members of the judiciary and other legal professionals. Registration is free for members of the DMBA Barristers Section, members of the DMBA Law Student Section, guests of our event sponsors, and members of the judiciary. All others pay just $20. New hours announced for the Wayne County Probate Court


Effective June 1, 2013, the Wayne County Probate Court’s hours of operation will be 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday.


Women in IP Law Networking Event coming for Detroit region


To support and foster the growth of women in the intellectual property (IP) field, Brooks Kushman P.C., the largest IP firm in Michigan, is hosting the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s (AIPLA) “2013 Cross-Country Women in IP Networking Event” for the Detroit region. This is the second year that Brooks Kushman will host the event, which will take place Thursday, May 23, at The Rattlesnake Club restaurant.
The Detroit reception is part of a simultaneous 31-city event that brings together women in the IP law arena. The evening will begin with tours of the USPTO Satellite Office, for those interested, and conclude with the traditional nationwide teleconference.
