On Wednesday, Jan. 22, members of the Oakland County Board of Commissioners honored the late Judge Michael Martone for his years of outstanding service on the bench in the 52-4 District Court. He served the Clawson and Troy communities with great the distinction and was champion for young people. Martone educated area youth on the dangers of drinking and driving by implementing innovative programs, such as Courageous Decisions and Courageous Persuaders, which gained national recognition. Commissioner Mike Bosnic spearheaded the honor and stated: “The proclamation was prepared last summer. Judge Martone read the final draft, and he was pleased that our board would honor his legacy of service. . . I reflect often on my conversations with Judge Martone when discussing cases in his chambers. The talk would invariably turn to his family and how proud he was of his sons Jon and Jamie. We are grateful that the judge’s family was able to accept this tribute on his behalf.”
