Veteran's Affairs

The Federal Bar Association’s Federal Disability Benefits Committee presented a seminar on Veterans Treatment Courts on Tuesday, April 29, at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit. Among those speaking at the program were (l-r) Macomb County Bar Association Immediate Past President Gail Pamukov-Miller, Nanette Colling of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Mark Switalski, Macomb County 41B District Court Judge Carrie Fuca, and seminar moderator John Walus of Warsh, Alpert, & Alpert. Last year’s program explored what the treatment courts were and what their purpose was. “This year I wanted to change the focus a bit and have it on basically using the military planning term of lessons learned,” Walus said. “What have we learned the last two years that the Macomb County Veterans Treatment Court has been in existence and what can we do to improve and enhance our respective courts?”
