The Third Circuit Court Civil, Criminal and Family Divisions will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day.

In observance of Memorial Day, the 36th District Court will be closed to the public on Monday, May 26. Felony arraignment hearings will be held at the 34th District Court in Romulus. The court will reopen on Tuesday, May 27.
The Wayne County Probate Court will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 26 and will reopen on Tuesday, May 27,  at 8 a.m.
The Michigan Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, and the State Court Administrative Office will be closed Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day.
 

DMBA Meet’n’Learn: In-House Thoughts on Outside Counsel

 
DMBA will present the Meet’n’Learn: In-House Thoughts on Outside Counsel on Thursday, May 22, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Firebird Tavern, 419 Monroe Street, Detroit. Ever wonder what in-house counsel really think about outside lawyers? And do in-house lawyers really talk to one another about those thoughts? Listen in as in-house lawyers Antoinette Porter and Brian Sadek discuss the good, bad and ugly of their interactions with outside counsel. FBA Bankruptcy Committee welcomes law professor to speak on bankruptcy reform

The Federal Bar Association Bankruptcy Committee and the Walter Shapero Bankruptcy Symposium present Professor Kara Bruce of the University of Toledo Law School who will speak on “Breaking Bad:  BAPCPA and a Fresh Approach to Bankruptcy Reform” on Thursday, May 22, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Judge Rhodes will be on hand to introduce Professor Bruce. Cost of the event is $70. Dinner selections include:  Chicken, salmon or vegetarian options. Wayne Law Golf Outing scheduled for June 2

Wayne Law faculty, staff, students and alumni are invited to play in the 2014 Wayne Law Golf Outing. The event will be Monday, June 2, at the Country Club of Detroit, 220 Country Club Drive, Grosse Pointe Farms. Registration begins at 11 a.m., lunch at noon and a shotgun start commences at 1 p.m. Cocktail reception and food immediately follow play, including presentation of scholarship to awardee, golfer awards and update from the dean.
