'Fine Art' Attorney hosts event to support art center

Jessica Woll, managing partner of Woll & Woll, P.C., a Michigan-based divorce and family law firm, and her husband Don Stewart, hosted this year's annual "Fine Art of Summer" fund-raiser at their Bloomfield Hills home June 25 to benefit the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center (BBAC). The BBAC, now in its 57th year, serves to connect people of all ages and abilities with visual arts education, exhibitions, and other creative experiences. The annual "Fine Art of Summer" event is held to support the education and ArtAccess programs of BBAC and is staged in a home of architectural distinction or one with a significant art collection. "Don and I were honored to host the 'Fine Art of Summer' event benefitting the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, which provides incomparable benefits to our community," Woll said. "It was our privilege to support this community gem and the resources it provides." In addition to fine food and drinks, attendees were able to view Woll and Stewart's collection of contemporary and Asian art and artifacts from their world travels. "The 'Fine Art of Summer' has become a unique event and a way for members to give back to the BBAC," said Annie VanGelderen, president and CEO of BBAC. "The BBAC continues to grow and expand the opportunities available through our ArtAccess program, such as providing opportunities to experience artistic expression for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and special needs as well as for under-privileged youth to experience artistic expression. We are honored to be able to serve the community and it wouldn't be possible without the generosity and support of benefactors like Jessica Woll and Don Stewart." Woll said she first became acquainted with the Art Center as a child in the late '70s, making a terrarium with her mother. Woll now participates in activities at the Art Center with her 9-year-old daughter, who has taken classes there for the past 5 years. "It is a very special place and we are lucky to have it," Woll said of the BBAC, which is located near the corner of 14 Mile Road and Cranbrook, adjacent to Lincoln Hills Golf Course. "We have an art center in Birmingham/Bloomfield Hills that rivals Manhattan. It is really special." Published: Fri, Jul 03, 2015
