Wayne Law team advanced to quarterfinals in national environmental law competition

Wayne Law competed in the 2017 Jeffrey G. Miller National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition, winning two of three preliminary round arguments and advancing to the quarterfinals.

The team is comprised of third-year students Kyle Hampton Bredell of Detroit, Sabra Bushey of Dearborn and second-year student Erin Mette of Detroit. The team is coached by Assistant (Clinical) Professor Nick Schroeck of Bloomfield Hills. Schroeck also is the director of Wayne Law’s Transnational Environmental Law Clinic.

Bredell and Bushey were both selected as “best oralist” in two of the arguments.

The competition was Thursday, Feb. 23, through Saturday, Feb. 25, at Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in White Plains, New York. 63 teams competed and more than 300 people participated.
