Wayne Law students win Outstanding Brief Award at bankruptcy moot court

Second-year Wayne State University Law School students Fawzeih Daher of Dearborn and Jacob Simon of Bloomfield Hills won an Outstanding Brief Award at the Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition on March 6.

The competition was at St. John's University School of Law in Queens, New York. The award placed them in the top 5 of 48 briefs. This was the first year Wayne Law competed in the event.
Allison Bach, Wayne Law class of 2004 and Ian Bolton, Wayne Law class of 2005, served as alumni coaches.

The Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition promotes and recognizes oral and written advocacy on important issues in bankruptcy practice. According to St. John’s School of Law website, the Duberstein competition is widely recognized as one of the nation’s preeminent moot court competitions.
