Retiring type: Former chief judge earns a royal sendoff at party

Hundreds of friends, colleagues, and well-wishers turned out November 20 to say a fond farewell to Oakland County Circuit Judge Wendy Potts, who will retire from the bench late next month. The retirement party, which took place at Bloomfield Hills Country Club, served as a fitting salute to Judge Potts, who began her judicial career in 1997 when she accepted an appointment to the Oakland County Probate Court. A year later, she was appointed to the Circuit Court bench, where she has served with distinction for the past 20 years, including a six-year stint as chief judge.
