Invested

The Judicial Investiture of Oakland County Circuit Judge Jacob Cunningham took place January 24 in the Oakland County Board of Commissioners Auditorium. An alumnus of Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, Cunningham was elected to a 6-year term on the Circuit Court in November and officially began his judicial duties earlier this month. For the past 3-1/2 years, Cunningham has served as a judicial staff attorney for Circuit Judge Mary Ellen Brennan. In 2015, Cunningham was honored by the Oakland County Bar Association as the recipient of the Outstanding New Lawyer Award. Among the featured speakers at the investiture ceremony were the judge’s parents, Judy Cunningham, longtime corporation counsel for Oakland County before retiring, and Jay Cunningham, a partner with Williams Williams Rattner & Plunkett in Birmingham; and Mark Coolman, the judge’s partner.
