Jaffe attorney appointed chair of the Bankruptcy Section of the CLLA

Deborah Rubin, attorney at Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C., has been appointed Chair of the Bankruptcy Section of the Commercial Law League of America (“CLLA”). Jaffe CEO Jeffrey M. Weiss made the announcement.

Founded in 1895, the CLLA is North America’s oldest creditor’s rights organization, consisting of attorneys and other experts in credit and finance who play an active role in the field of commercial law, bankruptcy and insolvency. The Bankruptcy Section was founded to promote high standards in the practice of bankruptcy law and insolvency law. Its members are amongst the highest regarded bankruptcy attorneys in the United States, having been involved in virtually every type of bankruptcy and reorganization matter.

The Bankruptcy Section keeps its members alert of late-breaking cases and items of importance and co-sponsors the highly acclaimed “Current Developments in Hot and Emerging Areas in Bankruptcy” program at the annual National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. It also has provided written position papers and testimony on the dozens of times the CLLA has been invited to testify before congressional committees on bankruptcy issues.

Rubin is an attorney in Jaffe’s litigation & dispute resolution and insolvency & reorganization practice groups. Focusing on all areas of bankruptcy and debtor-creditor law, she has extensive experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in avoidance litigation, fraud, discharge proceedings, relief from the automatic stay, preferences, collection proceedings and other insolvency actions. Rubin has worked with all phases of litigation from inception through resolution and provides strategic counsel and creative solutions in all types of bankruptcy, collection and insolvency matters.
