Seventh Judicial Circuit Court (Genesee County) Transcription Services

 The Seventh Judicial Circuit Court is seeking proposals to provide certified transcription services, from a digital recording system record for the courtroom of Judge Geoffrey L. Neithercut [civil/criminal division] 

Only certified reporters and recorders may record or prepare transcripts of proceedings held in Michigan courts or of depositions taken in Michigan as regulated by Michigan Court Rule 8.108(G). Certification is accomplished by a testing process administered by the Court Reporting and Recording Board of Review through the assistance of the State Court Administrative Office.
Proposals should include the per page cost (original and copy stated separately), along with any other financial details of the proposal. Professional references, including any other courts for which transcription services have been provided, should be included in the proposal. 
The scope of work includes transcription services for all requests arising from courtroom activity, including from the court, attorneys and public. Compliance with filing deadlines is essential and expected. 
The successful bidder will be required to retrieve transcript request messages on a daily basis and pick up other court related communications from a drop box at the courthouse.
The Court will provide successful bidders access to a virtual private network that contains digital files of court proceedings. A high-speed Internet connection and a minimum Windows XP platform are necessary to access these files. The Court will not be in a position to provide technical support to bidders’ equipment. Bidders will be required to maintain virus protection software and firewalls on their equipment.     
Proposals must be received no later than Thursday, July 29, 2010. Mail to: Barbara A. Menear, Court Administrator, 900 S. Saginaw Street, Flint MI 48502. It is the intention of the court to notify the successful bidder on or around August 5, 2010, with an effective date of August 16, 2010.
