A “Fun-raiser” for The RESTORE Foundation took place May 16 at The Moose Preserve in Bloomfield Hills, drawing more than 150 supporters of the drug court programs in Oakland County. Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Edward Sosnick served as emcee of the event, which raised more than $10,000 for The RESTORE Foundation, a nonprofit organization established in 2008 to help supply funding for the juvenile and adult drug courts. The Oakland County Legal News received recognition at the event for its consistent support of the drug court programs. Also among the honorees was Penny Brown (pictured), a recipient of the Joshua Charles Short Drug Court Scholarship. Brown, a graduate of the adult treatment court program, told of her battle to overcome substance abuse and of her plans to further her education, according to Circuit Court Judge Wendy Potts, president of the Foundation board. In the accompanying photos. are (l-r) Foundation supporters Michael Lee, Cynthia Brazzil, Circuit Court Judge Joan Young, and Michael Schloff, past president of the Oakland County Bar Association.
