Thompson joins Plunkett Cooney's Litigation, Transportation practice groups

 Attorney Ellisse S. Thompson recently joined the Tort & Litigation and Transportation Law practice groups of Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and largest law firms. 


A member of the firm’s Detroit office, Thompson focuses her litigation practice primarily in the areas of motor vehicle negligence and no-fault law. Additionally, Thompson’s practice includes trucking liability, ski area liability, governmental law, environmental law, construction law and workers’ compensation matters.

Thompson is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in Michigan. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association and the American Inn of Court.

Prior to graduation from law school, Thompson worked for the firm as a research clerk. She also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Nancy G. Edmunds of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Thompson received her law degree from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2013. While attending law school, she was a member of the university’s national moot court team. She also received numerous academic awards, including CALI Excellence for the Future and book awards for environmental law and mortgage foreclosure defense and inclusion on the Dean’s List. Thompson received her undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in 2007.
