The Michigan State Police (MSP) today announced that 515.7 pounds of prescription drugs were collected at MSP posts across the state during National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day held on Saturday, September 27.
The MSP partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and other local law enforcement agencies for National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day to provide a safe, convenient and responsible venue for citizens to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.

Alpena – 17 lbs
Brighton – 148 lbs
Cadillac – 4.8 lbs
Calumet – 10 lbs
Caro – 17 lbs
Coldwater – 10 lbs
Flint – 1.5 lbs
Gaylord – 8.4 lbs
Gladstone – 12.4 lbs
Hart – 9 lbs
Houghton Lake – 30 lbs
Iron Mountain – 30 lbs
Jackson – 36 lbs
Lakeview – 12 lbs
Lansing – 5 lbs
Lapeer – 5 lbs
Metro – 0 lbs
Monroe – 18 lbs
Mt. Pleasant – 1 lbs
Negaunee – 8 lbs
Niles – 36 lbs
Paw Paw – 5.1 lbs
Rockford – 30 lbs
Sault Ste. Marie – 8 lbs
St. Ignace – 6.5 lbs
Tri-City – 43 lbs
Wakefield – 3 lbs
Wayland – 1 lbs
West Branch – 0 lbs
All 29 MSP posts participated in the one-day effort by serving as drop-off points for citizens to discard expired, unused and unwanted medications for destruction. The service was free and anonymous with no questions asked.
