Runners, walkers take to streets at OCBA event

Scores of runners and walkers turned out for the 38th annual Race Judicata presented by the Oakland County Bar Association October 8 at Birmingham Covington School. Fifteen-year-old Ryan Berke took top honors in the 5-kilometer run with a 19:11 clocking, a 6:11 per mile pace over the 3.1-mile distance. Mami Kato was the winner of the women’s race, covering the 5-km distance in 21:24, a 6:54 per mile pace. In the 10-km race, Scott Moore crossed first in 38:44, a 6:15 per mile pace for the 6.2-mile distance. Erica Shell was the winner of the women’s 10-km race in 39:22, a 6:21 per mile clocking. In the team competition, the squad from Dean & Fulkerson captured top honors in the 5-km event. The 10-km team title was won by Bodman PLC. Premier sponsors for the annual OCBA event were Dean & Fulkerson and Sterling Attorneys. Supporting sponsors were Harness Dickey and Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss.
