Nino E. Green releases a new novel

Fifty years of experience prompted Escanaba lawyer, Nino E. Green to write “Justice on the Side: Flying Horses, Loopholes and Ernie Hunter’s Law, a novel about the ways in which lawyers, their clients, judges and juries approach the law with different views of justice. Now the sequel, Risking Justice,  More Fables and Foibles of Ernie the Attorney, has been released by Moonshine Cove Publishing, LLC.  In Risking Justice, Ernie Hunter discovers that skill doesn’t always win. Sometimes it takes a lucky break.

Samples from both books can be viewed online at ninoegreen.com

“Risking Justice is an authentic taste of the practice of law through the eyes of a people’s lawyer in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Nino Green knows what he’s writing about. He edifies us with stories of how the law works and amuses us with his characters’ very human problems. Although this book is fiction, the epilogue bristles with significant albeit little known facts about the state of the law today.” Hon. Marilyn Kelly,  former Michigan Supreme Court Justice.

Nino began  his career in Detroit in 1964. In 1966, he left to become the first executive director of Upper Peninsula Legal Services.  In 1969, he entered the private practice of law.  He was the 2003 recipient of the John W. Cummiskey Pro Bono Award and has been recognized by the federal government’s Legal Services Corporation for his involvement in delivering legal services to the poor. He is a former chairperson of Legal Services of Northern Michigan.
