 Grand Rapids Bar Association announces results of officer and board elections

The Grand Rapids Bar Association Board of Trustees and Staff extend their congratulations to the newly elected officer and trustees whose terms will begin on July 1, 2014.

Attorney Jessica Wood joins Dickinson Wright’s Grand Rapids office

Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Attorney Jessica L. Wood has joined the firm’s municipal law practice in the Grand Rapids office.
 
Wood focuses her practice on general municipal law and municipal finance. She is well versed in the representation of cities, villages, townships and counties, as well as tax increment authorities such as DDAs, TIFAs, LDFAs, PSDs, and Brownfield Authorities. She has experience with FOIA issues, Open Meetings Act issues, charter amendments and revisions, special assessment districts, and the full range of issues that confront municipalities on a daily basis.

Additionally, she is experienced representing municipalities in the Michigan Tax Tribunal.

Wood is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Federal Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the Michigan Association of Municipal Attorneys, the Michigan Municipal League, the Michigan Townships Association, and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. She received her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from the University of Oregon.

Wood served on the Humane Society of Kent County board from 2000-2006 including a year as president, and was a Michigan Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2008.
