Price Heneveld announces the addition of patent agent, Dr. Ryan Flaherty

Price Heneveld LLP, a Grand Rapids boutique intellectual property law firm, announces the addition of patent agent, Dr. Ryan J. Flaherty.

Dr. Ryan Flaherty joined the firm as a technical specialist in February of 2016 immediately following his Ph. D. in Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame.  He also earned a M.S. in Patent Law from the University of Notre Dame and a B.S. in Chemistry from Grand Valley State University.  Ryan has recently met all patent agent requirements and received his USPTO Registration on August 9, 2016.

As a Ph. D. candidate, Ryan conducted research using capillary electrophoresis with laser-induced fluorescence and mass spectrometry detection.  His research brought together aspects of chemistry, biology, and engineering.  He developed instrumentation for the advancement of analytical chemistry as it pertains to biological systems. He was also the inaugural chair of two committees, the Joint Analytical Sciences Meeting and the Student Selected Speaker committee.

Before pursuing his graduate degrees, Ryan gained valuable laboratory experience during his internships with industrial companies Amway (Ada) and Cayman Chemical Company (Ann Arbor). His undergraduate research and internship experiences utilized chromatographic and electrophoretic separation techniques to develop methods for analyzing complex mixtures.

Joseph Infante named to ‘40 Under Forty’ list
 

Joseph Infante, a principal in Miller Canfield’s Grand Rapids office, has been named among Grand Rapids Business Journal’s “40 Under Forty.” 

Infante was selected as a business leader in the community, not only for his outstanding work in law, and in particular craft beverage law, but also for the outstanding work he does for Hospice of West Michigan. This year, he and his wife Niki co-chaired the successful premiere fundraiser, Hospice of Michigan Barley, BBQ & Beats, which raised nearly $250,000.

Grand Rapids Business Journal received a record number of 395 nominations. Infante will be profiled in a special magazine supplement in the Oct. 17, 2016, issue.
