Law School's home page wins award

The Georgetown University Law Center recently announced the awards for its annual Top 10 Law School Home Pages of 2011. Cooley Law School's home page, www.cooley.edu, reached top-10 status, competing nationally against 200 American Bar Association-accredited law schools. "It's an honor to have our home page rated in the top 10 of all law schools by the Georgetown University study," said Helen Mickens, associate dean of community relations, Cooley Law School. "Our team works hard every day to ensure that the most current design principles are used to create a user-friendly home page, which has the most relevant information placed in an easy-to-read layout." Ric Tombelli, web director at Cooley, said, ''Cooley Law School is very proud to have our home page publicly recognized. Achieving this national status speaks to the level of professional, technical and creative work that goes into building and maintaining a web presence in today's rapidly changing Internet environment. The team here at Cooley works hard to balance innovative web technologies, user-centered design and HTML5 standards into a package that meets both the technical and aesthetic needs of our audience. We look forward to competing again next year.'' The Georgetown University Law Center study used 24 objective elements to rate each law school home page and assessed them across three broad categories: design patterns and metadata; accessibility and validation; and marketing and communications.
