ICBA Criminal Law section to meet Sept. 4

The Ingham County Bar Association’s Criminal Law Section will host “Breaking Through the Web of Driver License Restoration,” 9:15 a.m., Friday, Sept. 4, in rooms 1 and 2, State Bar of Michigan, 306 Townsend St., Lansing.

The free presentation will be approximately 90 minutes, with time for question and answers.

Presenter Karen Phillips, named a Rising Star in Criminal Law by SuperLawyers, is a partner with Nichols Law Firm, PLLC, in East Lansing, whose practice focuses on Drunk and Drugged Driving, general criminal law, and family law; and she represents people seeking reinstatement of their driving privileges.  Many have had their privilege to drive revoked or suspended as a result of multiple alcohol-related driving convictions or implied consent refusals.  The first step is to appear before a Secretary of State Hearing Office and then on to the Circuit Court.

Attendees will learn how to properly prepare for a hearing with the Administration Hearings Section (AHS) of the Secretary of State, what relief is available at those hearings, how to appeal the decision if you are denied by AHS, and how to get other relief for clients. RSVP to reception@alanechartier.com or call 517-482-2000.
