Michigan State University College of Law topped teams from 13 other law schools in Michigan and Ohio in advancing to the final round of the Texas Young Lawyers Association National Trial Competition regional event held February 19-21 in Dayton, Ohio.

MSU Law had two teams advance to the semi-final rounds of the competition. The three-person teams were comprised of Rebecca Berels, Sam Kilberg and Sarah McCormick, and Tim Hooyenga, Ali Nienabar and Michael Foster. Berels, Kilberg and McCormick were edged out in the final round by University of Cincinnati.   Brittany Campbell, ’11, coached the teams.

“We are proud of hard work the students put into preparing for this competition. Their preparation showed in their outstanding performances,” said Veronica Valentine McNally director of trial advocacy programs at MSU Law.
