Michael G. Harrison of Foster Swift receives American Arbitration Association Credential

LANSING, MI--The American Arbitration Association (AAA) recently approved Michael G. Harrison as a Neutral on the AAA Commercial Panel of Arbitrators. Harrison is an attorney in the Lansing office of Foster, Swift, Collins and Smith, P.C.

Having spent years on the bench, Harrison brings great perspective to the panels on which he sits. Prior to joining Foster Swift in 2001, Harrison served as Ingham County Circuit Judge, Judge of the Michigan Court of Claims and Chief Judge for Ingham County Circuit Court.

Harrison is a sought after neutral panelist in arbitrations as well as an effective negotiator in mediation proceedings. His experience provides him with a unique perspective and aids in his capabilities as a knowledgeable negotiator. Harrison was also recently approved and certified as an experienced mediator by the International Mediation Institute.

Harrison attended Albion College for his undergraduate education and earned his juris doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School. He was president of the Michigan Judges' Association and Chair of the National Conference of State Trial Judges.

Only well-respected legal professionals are admitted to the AAA's National Roster of Arbitrators and Mediators as AAA Neutrals. Among the qualifications, applicants must have a minimum of 15 years senior-level professional experience, three recommendations from active professional colleagues, as well as a reputation coinciding with the AAA Code of Ethics for Arbitrators.
