Training on effects of domestic violence on children scheduled

Eve's Inc. and Legal Services of South Central Michigan (LSSCM) will present a legal training on the research, studies, and conclusive findings of the negative and long term effects of domestic violence on children. The training, titled "Bright Light for Families," is funded by a grant from Avon Foundation.

The training will include a national speaker and a panel discussion by our local judges. The panel will discuss what type of cases will be court ordered to supervised parenting time, how attorneys should plead their cases where supervised parenting time is necessary and/or where safe exchange of parenting time can occur, and the pleadings necessary to achieve placement with the new Ingham County Safe Haven's Oasis Family Center.

The training is scheduled for September 23, 2010 at Cooley Law School--Lansing Campus. For more information, please contact Lori Pourzan, LSSCM, at (517) 394-2985 or e-mail: lpourzan @lsscm.org.
