AllSkate Family Fun Center to host Crazy Hat Party The AllSkate Family Fun Center, 1313 W. North St., will host a Crazy Hat Party, noon to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 26. Wear a crazy hat and get in for one dollar, instead of $6 admission. Skate rentals are extra. In the evening the center will offer a Night Before Thanksgiving 2-for-one party, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. On Friday, Nov. 28, the center will host a Black Friday Pajama Party, noon to 5 p.m., wear PJs and get in for one dollar; the event includes a teddy bear giveaway every 20 minutes. For more information, visit www.allskate.net. JPCM in dire need of funds Jackson Personal Care Ministry provides toiletries, paper products and cleaning products to persons in need in Jackson County. The ministry operates similarly to a food pantry. It costs approximately $900 to provide products for 150 households each week. JPCM is jointly sponsored by 16 churches, and many individuals and community organizations have supported the ministry over the past 2-1�2 years of operation. The number of households served continues to grow. Tax-deductible contributions should be sent to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2301 Ridgeway Rd., Jackson, MI, with an indication they are for the Personal Care Ministry. Bake Sale set Nov. 22 St. Demetrius Orthodox Church, 3043 Seymour Rd., will hold a Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 22, featuring ethnic baked goods such as baklava, braided bread, cheese and spinach pita, lemon/chicken soup, cookies, cakes, and a cookbook. CPCAN needs donations The Council for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, (CPCAN) Jackson, works to prevent child abuse and neglect in the Jackson community. Donations received by Dec. 31, will be matched up to $3,000 by four anonymous donors. Donations can be sent to 606 Greenwood Place, Jackson MI 49203, or online at www.cpcanjackson.org.
