With the dramatic increase in child abuse cases referred to the Jackson County Child Advocacy Center (JCCAC) each year, there is a need to increase and improve the facility for Catholic Charities of Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties.
Referrals to CAC programs are cases of sexual abuse or severe physical abuse in children under age 18.
With help from various community organizations and foundations, the organization has begun planning for expansion and renovation of the existing facility. Improvements will provide several benefits to child abuse victims and their families. The Multi-Disciplinary Team and JCCAC staff have identified key items needed, including an added in-house medical exam room, expanded and more private waiting area, additional therapy spaces, and additional parking.
