The Labor & Employment Law Committee of the Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, recently presented a “Meet the Magistrate Judges Panel” on at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse in Detroit.  Taking part in the program were (left to right) Joseph A. Golden of Pitt, McGehee, Palmer, Rivers, & Golden PC; U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge David R. Grand; Greg Murray of Vercruysse, Murray, & Calzone PC; U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Mona Majzoub, panel moderator; and U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Laurie J. Michelson.  “There are two new magistrates that have been recently appointed to the federal bench [Grand and Michelson] and this was an opportunity for practitioners in the federal court to hear them tell of their recent experiences, what they like and don’t like, answer questions from the audience in terms of practicing before them, and giving practicing attorneys an opportunity to learn a little bit more about the person that they’re going to have to be appearing against some time in the future,” noted Golden, plaintiff’s co-chair of the Labor & Employment Law Committee.
