Legal Secretary
Law firm seeking a legal/litigation secretary to join personal injury attorney in practice in downtown Birmingham. Ideal candidate would possess the following skills:
• Knowledge and understanding of court rules and filing/court scheduling procedures (including e-filing).
• Have background/knowledge in personal injury (including medical malpractice).
• Draft letters and pleadings.
• Maintain attorney’s calendar and proactively handle upcoming events/deadlines.
• Knowledge and understanding of legal terminology, local court/jurisdiction rules and adhere to law office procedures.
• Intermediate to advanced word processing skills.
• Accurate and efficient keyboarding skills, typing 80+ wpm
• Excellent writing, grammar, proofreading skills and overall attention to detail.
• Must be well organized and be able to prioritize in a busy and fast paced environment.
• Possess excellent communication skills (written and oral).
• Required experience: must have minimum five years legal/litigation secretarial experience.
