New security entrance for court in the process of being created

The jail construction project, which broke ground in January, is moving forward, as huge concrete walls appear like a giant maze just outside the Hall of Justice Pine Street entrance. While it was projected that the security entrance to the Hall of Justice would flip to the Terrace Street entrance in mid-May, it appears that it will be closer to mid-June.

Construction is underway on the Terrace Street side of the Hall of Justice to create a barrier-free entrance and space for security scanners and the Muskegon County Sheriff Department’s station at the scanners.
The jail is projected for completion in 2016, so visitors to the court are encouraged to be patient. The end result will provide an efficient, modern, and secure environment for law enforcement officers, judges, court staff, and citizens. The finished project will also be aesthetically pleasing to all who visit or drive past the complex.
