About 40 teenage students and ten adults and children joined Muskegon’s Youth Activism Coalition last Saturday to march from Muskegon High School to Hackley Park and raise their voices against gun violence.

They were joined by another 15-20 people at the park to listen to a variety of speakers and a youth chorus singing the very touching “Siyahamba” with its lyrics, “We are marching in the light of God.”

Exhibits at the park included a new chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America; those who wish to join may contact Heather, 773-426-2973 or heatherwilson@gmail.com. In addition, members of Students for Gun Legislation came in from Kalamazoo - they are also interested in setting up a local chapter, and invite people to follow them on Instagram or Twitter at studentsforgl
