The PetSafe Bark Park, created expressly for dogs and their owners, is now open. A lot of pets and their humans took advantage of it when it opened last Saturday.

A variety of vendors and dog park committee members attended. These included Kaylon and Karrie Pendleton, who have a business training dogs for protection. The couple also intends to open a Blue Collar franchise with dog supplies, including food, in 2019.

Also attending was were Sarah Sass and Chris Cordle; Sass, the mother of Examiner columnist Veda Rooks, was part of the committee that raised funds for the park. The two staffed a booth with T-shirts that played on the slogan WATCH mUSkeGOn, saying WATCH mUSkeGOnDOGSgo.

The park is named after a major donor, PetSafe.

The Bark Park is located across the street from Heritage Landing, in part of the former campground area (973 W. Western).
