For many years, people knew that the third Saturday in August was going to be Roosevelt Park Day -- the city even had a huge banner made saying just that with no actual date. You could also always count on it being on Broadway, closing off the street, and featuring a beer tent.
Last year, they decided to change things up. Events now take place all over the little city, but most, including music, a crafts fair and food trucks, are in the area behind the Community Center, with a homey, carnival-like atmosphere.
The event is very family friendly, with face painting, bounce houses and inflatable slides ... but there is still beer.
