Memorial seeks donors

The City of Norton Shores is seeking donations to build a memorial to well-liked Officer Jonathan Ginka, who lost his life in May of 2017 while on duty.

Ginka, who grew up in North Muskegon and received his criminal justice degree from Grand Valley State University, died when his cruiser went off the road in the wee hours of the morning.

He left behind a wife and two daughters, and the reason behind his accidental death was never officially determined.

Those interested in contributing may make checks out to The Ginka Memorial Fund and mail them to: Norton Shores Police Department, 4814 Henry Street, Norton Shores, MI 49441.
