Summer Reading Program Runs to August 14

Hackley Library’s Summer Reading Program (SRP) is free for all ages to enjoy. Participants read, enjoy activities, and have the chance to get cool prizes.

Adults receive a tote bag, and youths receive a kite to decorate. Youths and teens can earn additional prizes , including a t-shirt, a backpack, and a book. Adults, teens, and youths will have the chance to win even more prizes.

Art Exhibit Ends August 2

Charles LaRue – “In Dialog With My Surroundings” ends 5 p.m., August 2.

The artist describes the exhibit as, “Depictions on how the familiar and commonplace can take on new interest when one unlocks the light, shapes, and patterns in them.”

The Reception Gallery, on the 2nd floor of the Hilt Building within the Frauenthal Center, showcases art from local and regional artists. Admission is free; exhibits change on a regular basis. Gallery Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. For information, visit https://frauenthal.org/events/art-exhibits/.


West Michigan Symphony to Reopen November 5

The West Michigan Symphony plans to have live attendance for the 2021-2022 Season, scheduled to open Friday, November 5. The Symphony will continue to offer the Virtual Concert option as part of subscriptions.  For more information, visit https://westmichigansymphony.org/.

The WMS Office is open for walk-ins on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 360 W. Western Avenue, Suite 200. Phone hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30  p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at 231-726-3231.
