‘Write for Fright’ Deadline is October 25

Participate in ‘Write for Fright’ and let the community hear your spookiest short story!

Story submissions can be sent to askus@www.hackleylibrary.org, with ‘Write for Fright’ and your name in the subject line.

The winning story will be announced and read on the HPL Facebook page on Oct. 30. Stories should be 2500 words or fewer. Only one story per applicant.

‘Midnight At the Masquerade’ Party Set

Will you be the life of the party? The party-goer to catch the murderer? Attend the Billionaires Club Annual Masquerade Ball and solve the crime before the masked menace gets away! Costumes welcomed. The event is set 6 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 27 at the Norton Shores Branch.

Presented by the Murder Mystery Company of Grand Rapids.

Contemporary Art Exhibition Runs Through November 10

The 92nd Michigan Contemporary Art Exhibition  , running through Nov. 10, showcases the work of Michigan artists, and the issues, themes, and materials inspiring them.  Michigan residents ages 18 and over were eligible to submit artwork entries.  The exhibition is underwritten by the law firm of Warner Norcross + Judd, LLP.
