Pet Adoption Awareness Day set for June 4

Pet Adoption Awareness Day is set for noon to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 4, in Hackley Park.

The Hackley Public Library s  teaming up with area shelters, where you can meet pets that are up for adoption, ask questions about fostering, and kids can grab some crafts.

If you choose to, you can bring a donation for an area shelter (see list of suggestions on the library website).  For each donation you bring, you’ll earn a chance to win a gift card to PetSmart.

Donations can be brought the day of the event, or you can bring donations to the library through the month of May (or both).

Cober’s Canines will have on-site adoption (pre-approval through an adoption form is required ahead of time).

Summer Kickoff Carnival set June 11

The Summer Kickoff Carnival is set 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 11, at the North Muskegon Branch.

Celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of the Summer Reading Program with our free all ages carnival. Enjoy a bounce house, slide, foam axe throwing, carnival games and prizes. Bring the whole family.

‘Lunch &?Learn Around the World’ set June 8

The West Michigan Symphony presents a free brown bag lunch and conversation about Masterworks.4: Around the World at The Block, an hour of  discussion with Music Director Scott Speck and a special guest.  Doors open at 11:45 a.m.
