Oakland County remembers

Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson invited residents to join him and Oakland County employees on Sunday, Sept. 11, to honor 9/11 victims on the tenth anniversary of the terrorist attacks in a solemn remembrance ceremony on the south side of the Oakland County Courthouse in front of the west wing extension.

As part of the ceremony, a large commemorative American flag draped the annex in full view of Telegraph Road in honor of those killed in the terrorist attacks.

“This American flag will be Oakland County’s way of saying to America ‘We remember,’” said Patterson. “The solemn observance will be our opportunity to honor real American heroes.”
