Bride released after 122 days in Michigan jail

JACKSON, Mich. (AP) -- A woman arrested on her wedding day has been released after 122 days behind bars in Michigan. Tammy Lee Hinton was arrested over the summer wearing a dress and veil. She was wanted on a 2009 warrant that accused her of using her son's identification to get utility service. Police arrested her a second time three days later when she missed a court date, and she hadn't left jail since. Jackson County Circuit Judge Thomas Wilson ruled last Thursday that Hinton had spent "more than sufficient" time in jail and allowed her release. Her lawyer, Jake Dickerson, tells the Jackson Citizen Patriot Hinton's husband left her shortly after their July 16 nuptials. Dickerson says his client is ostracized by her children, homeless and "all alone." Published: Mon, Nov 21, 2011
