Ex-Mich. school worker arraigned in sex abuse case

DETROIT (AP) -- A former suburban Detroit school employee charged with having inappropriate contact with a 17-year-old student has been arraigned in Wayne County Circuit Court. The county prosecutor's office says Maurice Bulls was arraigned Tuesday on charges of child sexually abusive activity and misdemeanor assault and battery. A night-school student told police she was taken to a room at Harper Woods High School on Oct. 17, photographed with her clothes on and touched. The girl said she also was asked to pose nude. Bulls had been coordinator of a Safe and Supportive School program in Harper Woods, just east of Detroit. Defense attorney William Hackett says a judge entered a not-guilty plea on Bulls' behalf at Tuesday's hearing. Hackett says Bulls is free on bond. Published: Thu, Dec 15, 2011
