Faculty raises funds

Professors Monica Navarro and Alan Gershel (far left and second from left) along with Assistant Dean Lisa Halushka and Mike McDaniel (second from right and far right) from Thomas M. Cooley Law School’s Auburn Hills campus participated in a Faculty Mock Trial event on Tuesday, March 20.

The event was planned and presented by students from the Auburn Hills chapters of the Criminal Law Society and Mock Trial Board.

With the students as witnesses, the professors used their many years of litigation experience to try a mock kidnapping case before Oakland County 46th District Court Judge William Richards (fourth from right).

The event raised hundreds of dollars for CARE House of Oakland County to purchase medical supplies for children who are victims of child abuse.

Helping to coordinate the event were Cooley students Brittani Baldwin and Shaun Ciavattone (third and fourth from left) and Jordan Fields (third from right).
